I don't have access to a xbox atm, so there may be a few differences. As far as I remember, there was no key for running on xbox and you ran all the time - so if you don't like it, open init_pc.c, search for "ChrRun" and change "KEY_R" to "KEY_W".
Map zoom in ship battles is moved to L1 + R1, since there are no black/white buttons. I simply changed the default PC keyboard controls to something that isn't a total fuck up and used xpadder to map it to my x360 controller. I succesfully managed to recreate the xbox controls for Pirates of the Carribean very closely using the manual from my old game and init_xbox.c.
